I went outside this morning
And the grass it was still wet
The mud was stuck between my toes
Like the memories in my head
Like the time we drove through Texas
Bound for New Mexico
Spent the night in Las Cruces
And got back on the road
From Tucson to Sedona
We hardly said a word
Cause there was nothing to be said
We hadn't already heard

Was shining from the sky

Mountains locked up in time

On frequent flyer miles

When we touched down in Charleston
And headed straight downtown

A one bedroom apartment
With a kitchen that's always hot
Somebody broke in last Christmas
