It's the middle of the night
hardly anyone in sight
Dressed in the same clothes as yesterday
Sitting towards the back of a restaurant
Half expecting to see her in everyone that walks by
Drunk from the moment that he heard
that she is back in town now
that she's rented out a room in a house on
Glisan Street

Their place on Lincoln Street and then the fire
and her uncle's repair shop and her sister
calling in tears in the middle of the night
Him laying next to her staring at the
fake stars they had on the ceiling
and he'd listen to her softly talk
her sister down

Half now expecting to see her in any person
that walked by
