Bob Martin In this old photograph From the CD, Next to Nothin' , CD RSA2 2. In This Old Photograph Words and Music by Bob Martin, © Copyright Bob Martin, 2000 I didn’t know you were livin’ here in the old house. I’ll come in for just a minute if you don’t mind. The old place looks the same as I remember it. But the back yard seemed much bigger as a child. The neighborhood has changed so much I could hardly find my way. All along the street there’d been some changes made. But I can’t believe you still have this old photograph. You and I were so much younger in those days. I could have warmed up this old house with all the bridges that I burned, All the hard time lessons learned along the way. And I can’t help but remember with this picture from the past, Taken with a flash. Caught in the middle of a laugh, you and me in this old photograph. You and I should have left that night when we had the chance to go. There’s no doubt in my mind today we’d be somewhere else. And though I try hard not to remember that, Sometimes there’s days I think of nothing else... I could have warmed up this old house with all the bridges that I burned, All the hard time lessons learned along the way. And I can’t help but remember with this picture from the past, Taken with a flash. Caught in the middle of a laugh, you and me in this old photograph. When the light of day fades away to the blue of night, And I’m somewhere on a road that takes me far away, Thinkin’ of what I might have done to make it right And all the words I didn’t say.. I could have warmed up this old house with all the bridges that I burned, All the hard time lessons learned along the way. And I can’t help but remember with this picture from the past, Taken with a flash. Caught in the middle of a laugh, you and me in this old photograph.
